This is a new service that is very difficult to find, but is quite simple. You get personally involved in your move and can save from several hundred to several thousand dollars if you are willing to invest some time and hard work.

The following list is of the six major steps in an international relocation via ocean that you could be involved in and save money.

1. Origin Service:
Provided by local moving agent. They will send a crew to your residence and pack your goods into approved packing cartons, internationally wrap furniture and load your possessions into the appropriate ocean container.

2. Origin Trucking Service:
Trucking company hired to transport the appropriate ocean shipping container(s) from the port of departure to the doorstep of your home. When loaded, they return the container(s) to the port for loading.

3. Ocean Freight:
Movement of container from the port of departure to the port of arrival by a steamship company.

4. Customs Clearance:
The process of clearing your goods with the customs office of the foreign country to which you are moving.

5. Destination Trucking Service:
Trucking company hired to transport the appropriate ocean container(s) from the port of arrival to the doorstep of your home. When unloaded, they return the container(s) to the port.

6. Destination Services:
Provided by local moving agent. They will send crew to your residence to unload your goods from the ocean container, unpack boxes, unwrap furniture, place furniture in appropriate location, and remove the debris.
